Three Miami Lakes K-8 Center students will represent Florida in the Presidential AI Challenge regional contest.

It’s the next step in the team’s attempt to get to the national championship in Washington D.C. in June.

The team’s creation was called Project Dry Streets.

“Project Dry Streets tackles real-world infrastructure challenges through the lens of artificial intelligence,” a release from the school said.

MLK-8’s team was one of 328 state-level winners chosen from 2,500 submissions from across Florida, the government website said.

“The success of Project Dry Streets places these young innovators in the top tier of student researchers and creators in Florida,” a media release from the school said.
