Miami Lakes Library hosts November events

Miami Lakes Branch Library announced the following programs are available for the public during November:

For Children and Families: 

Paws to Read – The program aims to improve literacy skills of children through the assistance of therapy dogs who serve as literacy mentors. Parents may bring a book or choose one from the library collection, as 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12. 

Homeschool Science Class – Learn how to create different science projects. Space is limited. Contact branch to register. Scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16.
Library Lego Club – Join the library for monthly Lego builds at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19.

For Teens: 

Teen Club – Teens meet to play video games, watch anime, draw or discuss books at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, November 22 and 29. Presented by the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board. 

For Adults: 

Go Club of Miami Lakes – Now everyone can embark on a journey and uncover the ancient game of strategy, attack and defense, the Game of Go. Meets from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, November 6, 12, 19 and 26. 

Resume Writing Workshop – This two-hour workshop will teach how to create an effective resume and review helpful interviewing techniques, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 19.

Book Discussion Group – An adult book discussion club. Call the branch for this month’s title. Meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15. 

USCIS Information Table – United States Citizenship and Immigration Service staff will provide information, materials and answer general questions regarding the citizenship process, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28.  

Miami Lakes Branch Library is located at 6699 Windmill Gate Road and is open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch is closed on Sundays. For more information, call 305-822-6520.
