Miami Lakes seniors have variety of events

Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee has arranged a variety of events for senior residents during the rest of September and into October.

The final Miami Marlins Field Trip is set for Thursday, September 22, against the Atlanta Braves. Transportation for the free game is provided from Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, with the bus departing at 4:45 p.m.

The final Lunch Bunch and Bingo event will take place on Wednesday, September 28, from 11:30 a.m.. to 2 p.m. at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.

Space is limited and registration is required for both events by contacting Special Events and Committees coordinator Clarisell De Cardenas at decardenasc@miamilakes-fl.gov or calling 305-364-6100.

On Thursday, October 6, Miami Lakes seniors are invited to join in a field trip to the Perez Art Museum in Downtown Miami. In addition to exploring the galleries, seniors can enjoy waterfront dining, shop a unique selection of art books, furnishings and handmade items at the museum’s gift store, and take in the spectacular views of Biscayne Bay and the elaborate hanging gardens.
Transportation is provided from Town Hall with the bus departing at 11 am.

On Saturday, October 8, Miami Lakes seniors are invited to attend the Octoberfest Senior Social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.
The event is free and will feature music, entertainment, raffles and lunch. The event offers a great day of dancing, contests and a chance to meet new people.
