Miami Lakes’ annual Spring Fling, co-hosted by the Town of Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee and Youth Activities Task Force on April 19 at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West was a huge success.
The free event started at 10 a.m. with the Easter Egg Hunt where hundreds of families enjoyed the beautiful weather while children charged across the park grabbing as many colorful eggs as they could carry.
The event that followed the hunt, Paint a Picture for Mom, was also very popular. Children created hundreds of special paintings to give to their mothers and grandmothers.
“Easter is a time of service and I was very proud of the dozens of volunteers that gave back to the community during the Spring Fling,” said Vice Mayor Manny Cid. “The rain shower before the event and subsequent sunshine truly embodied Easter’s message of renewal and hope.”
