Miami Lakes Toastmasters Club's Monica Capovani wins Area 14 speech contest

Miami Lakes Toastmasters Club, along with several other Toastmasters Clubs in Area 14, Division A, held a Table Topics and International Speech Contest in the community room of Total Wines and More in Pembroke Pines.

Monica Capovani of the Miami Lakes club won the International Speech Contest with her speech “Toastmasters Anonymous.” She also received second place for her participation in the Table Topics Contest.

Capovani is a doctoral student at Carlos Albizu University studying Clinical Psychology. She joined Toastmasters as an outlet for professional development and to improve her public speaking skills.

With this win, Capovani will represent the Miami Lakes Toastmasters, as well as the Area clubs, at the Division A International Speech Contest to be held March 22 in Davie. Winners of the Division A contest will progress to the District 47 contest in Miami.
