Miami Lakes United Methodist Church holds third Winterfest

Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, located at 14800 N.W. 67 Avenue, is hosting the second annual Winterfest event for the community. Winterfest will run from now  to Thursday, December 24. This newest addition following the church’s popular pumpkin patch hopes to achieve the same success in engaging the Town of Miami Lakes and the surrounding communities. Admission to the festival is free and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Christmas Tree Sales began on November 24 and will continue through December 24. On Friday, November 27 which is “Green Friday,” all are invited to stroll through the wonderland full of lights and seasonal characters. Attendees will also be able to participate in activities and take advantage of the multiple photo opportunities.

Other activities throughout the month include the Candy Cane Parade on Friday, December 4, along with a visit with Santa and Elves at 7 p.m., and Santa’s Mailbox for children to write letters to Santa.

On Friday, December 11, the Bethlehem Bash will include a nativity play featuring the church’s school children and youth ministries at 7 p.m. in addition to the Big Bonfire Night which will have s’mores, popcorn, hot chocolate, food and drinks for sale.

On Saturday, December 19 the Christmas Cantata, performed by the church choir and Palm Springs United Methodist Church, present “Canticles in Candlelight” by Joseph M. Martin at 4 p.m. at Epworth Village, and at 7 p.m. at the Miami Lakes Methodist Church.
