M.L. Branch Library hosts free events for adults, kids, families

Miami Lakes Branch Library announced the following programs are available for the public during January:

For Children and Families:

Read the Book, Watch the Movie – Share in stores and enjoy the book based films. Even is sponsored by the Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, January 13, 20 and 27

Reading Ready Toddler Storytime – Stories, songs and activities for toddlers and their caregivers. For ages 18 months to 3 years old at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, January 13, 20 and 27.

For Teens:

Teen Club – Teens meet to play video games, watch anime, draw or discuss books on Tuesdays, January 26. 

For Adults: 

Go Club of Miami Lakes – Now everyone can embark on a journey and uncover the ancient game of strategy, attack and defense, the Game of Go. Meets from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, January 16, 23 and 30.

USCIS Information Table – United States Citizenship and Immigration Service staff will provide information, materials, and answer general questions regarding the citizenship process at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 25.

Navigating the Affordable Care Act: Health Insurance Information and Enrollment – Have questions about the Affordable Care Act, enrolling in new health insurance coverage, or simply renewing? Visit with Crystal Ochoa for answers and enrollment assistance, 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, January 25 and 26.

Book Discussion Group – This month’s title is “Fallen Angels” by Tracy Chevalier. Meets at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19.

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Community Outreach – A member of his staff will be on hand to discuss federal issues or any problem a constituent may have with a federal agency at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27.  

Miami Lakes Branch Library is located at 6699 Windmill Gate Road and is open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch is closed on Sundays. For more information, call 305-822-6520.
