Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s 17th annual Children’s Fashion Show and luncheon was a stylist fundraising success. The show was held on October 19 at the Doubletree Miami Airport Convention Center and featured 125 student models from prekindergarten through eighth grade, and drew more than 600 guests.

The fashion show is the largest fundraiser for the first half of the school year. The money raised goes towards the “Lend-a-Hand Scholarship Program” that provides tuition assistant to families in need and the educational needs of the school.

This year’s theme was “Let’s Rock and Roll” and students performed to a variety of music while walking the runway. The music and dance, choreographed by Teresita Miranda of Miranda Productions, showcased the students’ special talents. The event’s MC was Lauren Pastrana, news reporter for WFOR/CBS 4 News Miami.

School administrators expressed their thanks to the Fashion Show executive committee, the class representatives, the backstage helpers and the people that help before and during the event, and to the talented students and their families for their patience, commitment and enthusiasm. The event’s grand sponsor was Jackie Ohh...Events.

Diamond sponsors included Femlife Healthcare for Women, Mercedes-Benz of Pembroke Pines, Mr. and Mrs. Reinaldo and Alina Hernandez, Oliva Cigar Company, and Simply HealthCare. The clothes modeled by students were provided by Dillard’s of Pembroke Lakes Mall, Tutti Bambini, Zayas Bridal and Quincañera, and Zayas Men’s Shop & Tuxedos.
