Offices in the Lakes, a building on the east side of Miami Lakes, has a large variety of businesses inside.
Twenty-nine firms are located at 5969 NW 151st St.
The building is owned by the David Schaecter Trust, according to the Miami-Dade County Property Appraisers Office.
Horizon Properties advertises at the site as the property manager.
The building was built in 1980, improved in 1987 and renovated in 1997.
Tenant Little Angels Special Care provides home health care for kids and adults diagnosed with autism; Down syndrome; cerebral palsy; ADHD and other conditions.
Bianca Gonzalez owns the agency and was attracted to the area in 2018.
“I chose to open in Miami Lakes after I read an article from [Mayor] Manny Cid, that he considered Miami Lakes to be an inclusion town,” Gonzalez said.
Caregivers from the agency not only provide family members with the ability to return to work or take a break, they also help patients learn day-to-day tasks such as feeding themselves; using a restroom or doing chores.
“Originally when we first started a few years ago we started to serve [ages] 0 to 21,” Gonzalez said. “We have since grown and now serve 0 to 99 plus.”
Gonzalez said she also has clients with anxiety, learning disabilities and depression.
An amenity for the office is its proximity to Picnic Park East.
“Many times, when it becomes very difficult to do an assessment on a child because they can’t sit still, we have had the opportunity to go across the street sit down [in the park] and let the child be,” Gonzalez said.
The setting enables her to chat with parents while observing the child at play.
