Pace High celebrates 51st annual Graduation event

Monsignor Edward Pace High School celebrated its 51st graduation ceremony on Friday, May 23, in the Miami Dade County Auditorium. Among all of the graduates, family members, faculty, and friends, the seniors were recognized for their academic achievements.

Nicholas Fernandez received the National Merit Scholar award for $2,500, and Brielle Perez was one of 8,000 finalists out of over one million applicants. Nina Pulley received the National Achievement Scholarship, Micah Magwood is the recipient of the Ford Salute to Education Award, and he will receive his scholarship of $1,500 during the STE Scholarship Luncheon in the Signature Grand on June 7.

Christina Lujan received the Mahatma Rice Scholarship for $2,000 at an awards dinner in May. Gates Millennium Scholarship Recipient Dimitri Wolff will use his scholarship winnings towards his education at Notre Dame. Elizabeth Bello received a scholarship from Miami Dade County Youth Fair and joined fellow graduates Janelle Gonzalez, Micah Magwood, and Christina Lujan when they received their Burger King Scholarships on June 2 at Burger King Headquarters. 

Also recognized for their achievements were the Summa Cum Laude graduates, “with highest honor”, Nicholas Fernandez, Carlos Gonzalez, and Brielle Perez; Magna Cum Laude graduates, “with great honor”, Natalie Balmori, Carolina Del Rio, Kenny Gomez, Angelina Lincoln, Ariel Spicer-Pyles, Adrian Verdin, Kenan Yildrim, and Luvianka Zapata; and Cum Laude graduates, “with honor”, Cristina Alonso, Alan Goya, Rafael Hernandez, Natalie Leon, Christina Lujan, Alex Quintero, Nina Pulley, Marissa Secades, Angelica Toledo, and Dimitri Wolff.
