Monsignor Edward Pace High School's wrestling team, led by coach Frank Pelegri, concluded its season 8-2 and second in the region to cap an outstanding season in which the team placed in the top ten of the toughest tournaments in the state.

Injuries took a toll on the Spartans losing two-time state-placed finalist Christian Moreno to a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but the Pace wrestlers were still able to qualify eight wrestlers to compete in the state tournament that took place on February 14 and 15 in Lakeland.

Among the qualifying team members were Stephen Moreno, Justin Cohen, Alexander Perez, Christian Perez, Godwin Ferrier, Matt Rodriguez-Kirkland, Aaron Fluitt, and Juan Cornet.
