Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee will host the annual “Paint a Picture for Mom” and Flower Show event just in time for Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
Children of all ages will have an opportunity to be creative and paint something special for their moms. Canvas, brushes and paint will be provided free of charge.
In addition to the painting activities, attendees can enjoy a colorful display or flowers, and be able to buy orchids, bromeliads, assorted plants, and other flower-themed items.
Participating vendors include Miami Lakes Garden Club, Dan and Margie Orchids, Om Bonsai and Sunshine Bromeliads who will all offer some beautiful selections to event goers.
Additional activities include free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cones, and the Town’s Education Advisory Board will provide each attendee with a free children’s book.
There is still time for flower and plant vendors to participate. Vendors must provide proof of applicable licenses, certificate of insurance, and a $50 vendor fee.
