James Parker, principal of Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC), was chosen as this year's Principal of the Year for the North Region of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
A group of judges visited the school and interviewed students, faculty and staff. The team also visited and interviewed six outstanding principals from throughout the region before selecting Parker. He is now a finalist for District Principal of the Year.
In a heartwarming email to faculty and staff, Parker said, “This recognition belongs to each and every student, faculty and staff member of Miami Lakes Educational Center and Parkway Educational Complex…I cannot thank you enough for what each of you do every day to make MLEC and PEC the magnificent providers of educational opportunities for our communities. Thank you with all my heart.”
