Community Friday, December 2, 2016

Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force (YATF) is inviting residents and families to join the adventures of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon!

Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” is an American fantasy adventure film starring Academy Award winner Robert Redford.

The free movie watching event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 2, at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.

Attendees are reminded to bring blankets and chairs for a family-friendly evening of movie watching under the stars.

The YATF will help get residents in the holiday spirit with the showing of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” the next in the Bella Mar Real Estate Group’s Movie Series at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16.

This Academy Award-winning film by Ron Howard stars Jim Carrey in his portrayal of the Grinch who lives on the outskirts of Whoville, and plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens in the town.

The Movies in the Park Series kicks off its 2017 schedule on January 6 with the showing of “The Secret Life of Pets.”
