Jonathan Hernandez says that Bailey, his 6-year-old Labradoodle girl, is a star.

And like any celebrity, she attends cultural events like Art Basel and works out, accompanying him to Caution CrossFit in Miami Lakes.

“I have stickers of her face that I give to friends at the gym and other places they’re allowed,” Hernandez said.

The duo have been together since Bailey left an Ohio farm as a puppy.

“She’s a service dog,” he said. “I treat her like she’s my daughter that I truly love and take everywhere.”

That includes weekend trips to the K-9 Cove dog park in town and on occasional runs around Lake Martha.

“She loves to give free hugs, and will stand up and put her paws around your neck,” he said.

“She’s very calm, but is very excited at the end of the day and meets me at home with a toy,” he said. “It’s the biggest joy. There is nothing like it.”

In the photo, Bailey the Labradoodle is at the Art Basel fair on Miami Beach last December. She is posing with “The Great Elephant Migration,” an exhibit of 100 wooden pachyderms, created by the Coexistence Collective.
