RE/MAX Unique Realty in Miami Lakes has merged with RE/MAX Advance Realty, the firms announced on Aug. 1.

It’s the seventh acquisition by RE/MAX Advance Realty.

That company also has offices in Hollywood, Davie, Miramar, North Miami, South Miami, Kendall and in Monroe County, in Key Largo and Key West.

RE/MAX Advance Realty is owned by Melanie De Armas and Broker Anthony Askowitz.

RE/MAX Unique Realty’s 20 agents will join the parent company, which now has 180 agents, according to a press release.

Broker Eddie Rodriguez, who founded RE/MAX Unique Realty in Miami Lakes in 1995, will continue to manage that office.

“I am happy,” Rodriguez said. “They took a big load off of my back. This is a much larger office and they have systems in place, for example for training the associates, and for any legal updates, they have a department for that as well.

“I will keep doing my real estate business and can concentrate on my clients now,” he said. “And it’s the same brand.”

Bottom line, Rodriguez said, there is strength in numbers.

“That’s what it comes down to,” he said. “We had 20 associates and now we’re close to 200.”

RE/MAX Advance Realty is in the Lake Katharine Shopping Center, at 6167 Miami Lakes Drive East, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
