Renata Alchemy supports women vendors at Main St. shop

Yoselin Renata Espinoza has always had sensitive skin, which forced her to embark upon frustrating searches for body care products that weren’t irritating.

She knew other people had the same experience, and after going through some changes in her personal life, she got the idea to open a store that offers eco-friendly products.

And after working in the corporate world
as a business analyst for 14 years,
 Espinoza was
ready for something new.

“I’m a self-learner,” said Espinoza, 42.

She created a store filled with all-natural products for hair and skin, apparel and home accessories, and called it Renata Alchemy.

It opened June 5th at 6840 Main St., next to the entrance of Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club in Miami Lakes.

Her mission, as described on the store’s website, is to “promote holistic wellness and organic beauty.”

Espinoza is a divorced mother of a son, Angel Luna, 21, and a daughter, Gabriela Luna, 20.

She chose her hometown for the new venture because, she says, “I noticed they didn’t have much [all natural, clean products] here. It was the perfect opportunity to bring this to Miami Lakes.”

Once inside, shoppers will immediately notice how the store filled with soaps, perfume, body oils, candles and creams has
a very soft scent, similar to what can be found at a mellow spa.

There are items for men too, such as a sculpting beard balm, beard serum and shaving brushes.

Florida vendors make many of the products.

Sugar scrub cubes and beautifully crafted, $8 bars of soap from Bar & Bar Soap Co. are fragrant from sandalwood and amber, cedar and leather or lavender.

“Offering products from Bar & Bar Soap Co., allows me to carry fresh hand soaps that can be customized with different scents,” said Espinoza.

Espinoza said she likes to find women entrepreneurs who make quality products that she can sell.

“I am all about women empowerment,” she said. Amanda Canington of Lehigh Acres, Fla., owns Bar & Bar Soap Co. and said she shares Espinoza’s support of women-owned ventures.

“My goal is to continue building my business,” Canington said, “to employ my daughter and daughter-in-law in the future. I want this to be fully employed by women.” Renata Alchemy offers gift boxes that customers can fill with products to take home or to create gifts.

The shop is open week- days from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
