n an effort to improve mobility on most of Miami-Dade’s expressways, the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) is now offering free Road Rangers service that assists stranded motorists on a 24 hour and seven-day a week basis.
MDX is committed to moving Miami-Dade along and improving motorists commute as they use the agency’s five roadways (State Roads 924, 836, 12, 878 and 874).
The Road Rangers help maintain mobility on the roadways; the longer a motorist remains stranded, the more congestion builds up on the expressways.
If an MDX Road Ranger can save five minutes by assisting a motorist, they are eliminating at least a half-hour of traffic congestion for motorists.
While riding along the expressways, the Road Rangers will search for broken down vehicles and usually appear within 10-15 minutes.
They carry the necessary tools to help get motorists’ vehicles back on the road, including auto fluids, flares, one-gallon of gas, air compressor, booster cables, tire repair kit and reflective cones.
For Road Rangers service, dial *347 on a cell phone for road side assistance.
