Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee is hosting the annual Halloween Senior Social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, at Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue, at Royal Oaks Park.
The event is free and will feature music, entertainment, raffles and lunch. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate All Hallows Eve while enjoying dancing, contests and a chance to meet new people.
Prizes for best costume will be given for Best Female, Best Male, and Best Couple.
No reservations are necessary to attend but entry will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Seniors in need of transportation are asked to call 305-364-6100 before Friday, October 16.
Representatives from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Station 64 will be present alongside their fire truck to hand out information regarding smoke detectors. To avoid a frightening situation, attendees can sign up to have firemen visit their home to check existing detectors and install new ones if need be.
Sponsorship opportunities for the Halloween Social are still available. For more information on the event, contact Special Events and Committees coordinator Clarisell De Cardenas at decardenasc@miamilakes-fl.gov.
