Sunrise Presbyterian hosts a piano concert on Dec. 5

Religious Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Sunrise Presbyterian Church is hosting a concert featuring renowned pianist Ciro Fodere at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 5. The church is located at 18400 N.W. 68 Avenue.

Fodere recently played with the Uruguay Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Miami.

As the First Prizewinner of the XIV Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofieff International Competition, Fodere is a pianist with a variety of musical interests. His latest performances have been described as “masterful, electric, by turns fiery and lyrical” by The Post and Courier, and as “technical sheen articulation, alert dynamic shading, and an imaginative approach” by The Miami Herald.

Besides soloing with both major orchestras in Uruguay, making his debut at age 14 with the Philharmonic of Montevideo, Fodere has been a soloist three times with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and performances with the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic.

Other orchestras include the Philharmonic of Extremadura, and the New World Symphony, where his most recent performance of the “Rachmaninoff Variations” on a theme by Paganini under the direction of Alasdair Neale, was acclaimed by the audience and major newspapers in Miami.

Tickets for the concert are $20. For more information, call the church at 305-821-5841.
