Town calls for nominations for Women of Distinction Awards

The Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee is accepting nominations for the 2025 Women of Distinction Awards.

Outstanding women from the community can be nominated across six categories.

The winners will be announced in March and be honored at an annual luncheon on March 15 at Miami Lakes Town Hall.

Women may be nominated in the following categories:

• Arts: a woman who has contributed to the cultural life of the community through theatre, dance, music, art or literature.
• Business: a professional woman who is an owner, CEO or high-level manager of a business or industry.
• Education: a woman who is an educator, administrator or director of a public or private institution of learning who has been outstanding in her field.
• Government: a woman who has made outstanding an outstanding contribution to the community through her work in or with local government.
• Health Services: a woman who has made an outstanding contribution in the health services field.
• Volunteer: a woman who has made an outstanding contribution by serving the needs of others.

Nomination forms will be accepted until Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. on the town’s website.
