Town Commander MAjor Dieppa speaks to M.L. Chamber on Sept. 3

Miami-Dade Police Major Gene Dieppa, commander of the Miami Lakes Police Department, is the guest speaker for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s monthly membership luncheon on Wednesday, September 3, at Shula’s Hotel on Main Street.

A resident of Miami Lakes, Dieppa is charged with directing daily law enforcement activities accomplishing the town’s priorities, managing the delivery for police services, and ensuring that the policing needs of the residents are adequately met.

Dieppa began his career with the State Attorney’s Office. He later became an officer with Miami-Dade Police Department and advanced through the ranks to his current position.

During his career with Miami-Dade, he has worked in a variety of uniform and investigative assignments that include Uniformed Patrol, Crime Suppression and Prevention Unit, Robbery Intervention and Investigations Unit, Street Terror Offender Unit, Environmental Crimes Unit, Unlicensed Contractor Unit, Critical Incident and Bio Hazardous Unit, High Intensity Drug Area Task Force Unit, Police Legal Unit. Forfeiture and Money Laundry Section, Underwater Recovery Unit, and several other sections.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a graduate certificate in Emergency Management, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, and is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute, Command Officers Development Course from the University of Louisville in Kentucky.
