Mayor Manny Cid and the Town Council will host a reception at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, in observance of National Day of Prayer.
The annual observance invites people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 in a joint resolution of Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
This year’s theme “Pray for America – Unity,” based upon Ephesians 4:3, challenges citizens to mobilize unified public prayer for America, “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
A light breakfast will be served followed by a musical ensemble from the Elevate Church Worship Band, and prayers from members of local houses of worship.
