“They can look at the parks and the lighting,” Denise Sainz said. “To make sure there is enough lighting in our neighborhood parks.”

“I grew up in Miami Lakes, I was born and raised in this area,” Tony Garcia said. “One thing we always had an issue with was town flooding.

“Everything else about Miami Lakes is a beautiful town, I love it, it’s part of my life. But if there is one thing, it is that Miami Lakes floods pretty bad when it rains.”

“Activities, access for children,” Suhaill Morales said. “As a parent in the town, I see our parks aren’t great. You see places like Doral that have great parks lots of activities for the kids and really, we’re lacking that.

“So, we find ourselves going to Doral for their movie nights every month or events that they put on for the kids. I think we should have something like that. We’re a small town with a lot of young families with young children.”

“The traffic the exit at [Northwest] 154 [Street] it’s horrible,” Emily Diaz said.

“In the morning, it takes me almost 20 minutes just to exit to get to the school and it’s around the corner.”

“There are a lot of things that could improve in the town, but some of them are difficult to solve, like traffic,” Rafael Schuck wrote in an email.

“However, I think what the town needs to address is the empty business store fronts, warehouses, and office space. The town council should pay attention to promoting and or incentivizing businesses to come to Miami Lakes. It’s not something that they can legislate. But working with landlords and businesses they can create a positive atmosphere for businesses of all types and sizes.”

Alexandra Herrera interviewed our Town Topics talkers and photographed everyone except for Rafael Schuck, who shared his picture.
