Dr. Fabian Redler, owner of What’s On Your Mind Psychology and Learning Centers Inc., has designated Miami Lakes as the location for his business’ headquarters, at 14400 N.W. 77 Ct. Suite #105. The center is a diagnostic, treatment and learning center that combines neuropsychology and educational therapies for student success.

“I love Miami Lakes,” said Redler. “I grew up in Miami but had friends in the area. I also love that the population fits with my own background which is primarily young professional hispanics.”

Redler opened the learning center 15 years ago after finding the manner by which students and their parents were directed after being evaluated for learning disabilities was frustrating.

“At the end of an evaluation, parents would spend so much money and would want to know ‘where do we go from here and there really wasn’t any place for them to go other than teaching the child in a specific way that would support their own learning style. To me, that didn’t make sense because the reality is, when that child grows up, the world won’t change or accommodate that child. This led me to finding a way to figuring out where that child is cognitively weak and building those underlying processing skills,” said Redler.

Redler, together with a team of psychologists, and trained instructors make up What’s On Your Mind Psychology and Learning Centers. Students are diagnosed by the psychologists and then are given a custom program that caters to their needs. The theories that inspired the work done at What’s On Your Mind were from studies for patients that had encountered a brain injury. How brain activity, such as the “processing speed” of the brain for skills like attention, memory, and

reading are linked, was one of the many foundations that led to the inception of the center.

“We are a center that specializes in working with students that have learning disabilities,” said Redler. “We have what we call ‘brain trainers’ who are instructors certified in our program through extensive training.”
