Rachel Autler, principal at Hialeah Gardens Elementary School, has been named the 2020-2021 Principal of the Year for the North Region Office of Miami-Dade County Schools.
“I am ecstatic about receiving this accolade,” said Autler.
She has led the school, at 9702 NW 130th St., for the past six years and was assistant principal for a decade before that.
“To be able to come to work each day and do what I love with the most amazing group of teachers, staff, students and parents is truly a blessing,” she said.
“As principal of Hialeah Gardens Elementary, I have focused my efforts not only on bringing unique programs such as our LEGO initiative to HGE, but also on creating a school culture that values diversity and nurtures self-esteem.
“Being named the North Region Office Principal of the Year is an honor,” Autler said.
