M-D Police set Safe Havens for Craigslist transactions

Community Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Miami Lakes announced that Miami-Dade Northwest County Police Station, 5975 Miami Lakes Drive East, has been established as a Safe Haven for Craigslist sales and transactions.

The Internal Services Department has identified four additional county-wide (north, south, west and central) locations for all residents who wish to complete safe internet sale transactions:

• North Dade Justice Center, 15555 Biscayne Boulevard, security until 6 p.m.;

• South Dade Government Center, 10710 S.W. 211 Street, security until 6 p.m.;

• West Dade Permitting and Inspection Center, 11805 S.W. 26 Street, security until 8 p.m.; and

• Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 N.W. 1 Street, security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Residents may also use Miami-Dade Police Department District parking lots. A list of those lots can be found at www.miamidade.gov/police/contacts-us.asp.

Miami Lakes officials noted that the Town’s Police Department is not open 24 hours a day, and does not have surveillance monitoring systems, so Town Hall is not an authorized Safe Haven.
