Sports By Raquel Edmundson Sunday, December 17, 2017

It was a victorious game for the Pace High School’s girl’s soccer team as they defeated local rival Mater Lakes Academy, 1-0, on November 30. Both teams played a strong match but it was the Spartans who edged out the Mater Lakes Bears in what was a conference game and Mater Lakes’ home opener.

The Spartans lost their first two games of the season against Ransom Everglades and Miami Edison, but they are looking forward to facing off against Mast Academy, La Salle High School, Chaminade-Madonna College Prep, and Booker T. Washington High School in what remains of the regular season.

Under new coach Jamel Johnson, the team is anticipating a strong 2017-2018 year with their hopes for a post season beginning in late January.
