Pace High's Destiny Wilson Flag Football Player of Year

Monsignor Edward Pace High senior Destiny Wilson was named Flag Football Player of the Year last week at the 2016 Miami Herald’s All-Dade Athletic Awards at Jungle Island.
Her feat comes on the heels of being named to The Miami Herald All-Dade First Team.
Wilson, a running back and wide receiver, had 1,796 total yards, 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for the 2016 season.

Other local student-athletes were named Player of the Year in their sports.
Mater Academy’s Julio Horrego won Swimmer of the Year and American’s Tyresse Cooper won Athlete of the Year.

In track and field, Cooper won state titles in the 200 with a time of 20.87 and the 400 with a time of 46.34 this past season.

He was also named to The Miami Herald All-Dade First Team for 2016.
