Town's domino tournament sees competition with 16 teams

A domino tournament was a big hit for Miami Lakes residents on October 3 at Mary Collins Community Center as 16 teams participated in the event. Hosted by Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee, the Double-Nine Tournament was sponsored by Leon Medical Centers.

Event organizers expressed their appreciation to volunteers from Barbara Goleman High School’s Key Club; Guido Inguanzo for organizing the tournament bracket; and Lourdes Rodriguez and Carmen Garcia for assisting with registration and the tournament bracket.

The first place team of Daniel Gamez and Onelio Armas each won a $50 Publix gift certificate and the Senior Games gold medal.

The second place team of Francisco Delgado and Lazaro Quintero each won a $25 Publix gift certificate and the Senior Games silver medal.
