BGHS's STEM team places in Nationals competition
Barbara Goleman High School (BGHS) is proud to have been given the opportunity to have some of its STEM students participate in Nationals. After much struggle and hard work in raising the needed funding for them to participate in their first national competition, their efforts paid off.
From April 26-27, they left to participate in a national competition at Texas A&M University. Although they wanted to win first place, they were excited at that mere fact that they were able to compete. With more than 40 high schools participating from within and outside of the United States, needless to say, they had their work cut out for them.
Through their teamwork and sprit de corps, they placed ninth overall. Their students also received the rookie enterprise award and ranked second overall in pit challenge. They worked hard and gave it their all. Their commitment and dedication to being the best they could be was clearly visible throughout this competition.
At the culmination of the event, they all expressed their willingness and desire to continue learning more about robotics so that they can once again achieve excellence next year. This time they will be shooting for first place overall. BGHS’s Swamp Shifters rock robotics.
