Miami Lakes will have its own Farmer’s Market starting on Saturday, January 14, at Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue. The markets will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the month of May offering a wide variety of fresh produce, natural juices, assorted flowers, cultural foods and handcrafted accessories.
The initial Farmer’s Market will be in conjunction with the Town’s “Super Saturday at the Park” on January 14. In response to a recent survey conducted by the Town, residents expressed their desire to have additional health and wellness programming taking place at the park on Saturdays.
The Super Saturday schedule includes:
• Community 5-mile family friendly bike ride with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the ride from 8 to 9 a.m. It’s a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike) activity;
• Yoga in the Park, from 9 to 10 a.m. offered in partnership with local business 305 Yoga;
• Boot Camp, from 10 to 11 a.m., offered in partnership with Fit Like Me Miami; and
• Healthy Cooking Demonstration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., provided by the Naked Bite with sponsorship in part by The Graham Companies. (Registration is required.)
