Open table tennis at Alonso Center

  Miami Lakes offers free open table tennis play at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue, every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 3:30 p.m. All levels and ages are welcome to participate and the town provides paddles and balls, although participants may bring their own paddles. Long time Miami Lakes residents Hugo and Hilde Muniz announced the birth of their second granddaughter, Melanie Rose Collado, born November 26, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces, to parents Monica Muniz-Collado and Edivey Collado. She joins sister Sydney Rose. Paternal grandparents are Eduardo and Zonia Collado.

Brent and Raquel Edmundson announced the birth of their son Gavin Michael Edmundson. Gavin was born at Miramar Memorial Hospital on September 24, 2013. He weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce and was 19 inches in length. His paternal grandparents are Arnold and Nell Edmundson of Miami Lakes and his maternal grandparents are German and Maria Garcia of Miami.
