Teens invited to be creative for Library's T-Shirt design contest

Miami-Dade Public Library System is inviting teens, ages 12-18, to participate in its annual T-Shirt Design Contest based on this year’s Teen Read Week theme “Turn Dreams Into Reality.” The contest runs from August 18 to September 6. Entry forms are available at the Miami Lake Branch Library, 6699 Windmill Gate Road, and online at www.mdpls.org.

The teen with the winning design will receive a Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ 16GB 9” tablet and will have their design reproduced on the library’s Teen Read Week T-Shirt. Participating teens will wear the winning design T-Shirt during select Teen Read Week events throughout October.

First and second runners up will receive Michael’s gift cards. Teen Read Week is scheduled for October 12-18 and is a literacy initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association. a division of the American Library Association, which encourages teens to read just for the fun of it. The program is sponsored by the Miami Dolphins Foundation.
