Community Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee will host the 14th annual Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.

The fun-filled event for the whole family will feature live entertainment, food trucks, and more, followed by the spectacular fireworks presentation.

Sponsored by The Graham Companies, headliner for this year’s concert is South Florida’s own Ellison Kendrick. Former backup signer for Grammy Award winner Jose Stone, Kendrick has gone on to release a solo project independently, a single he wrote called “Black Suit,” which peaked at Number 11 on the Billboard Sales Chart.

Kendrick’s dynamic career has led to him working with various artists such as international artist Enrique Iglesias and Hip-Hop artist DMX.

The National Anthem will be sung by Miami Lakes resident Tiffany Hall, winner of the National Anthem auditions that were held at Town Hall on June 1.

Attendees are reminded to bring blankets, lawn chairs and appetites for a variety of food trucks.
Admission and parking are free. Parking around the Picnic Park West perimeter is limited and the Town is encouraging residents to walk or bike to the Park.
The Town will also provide free shuttle service from two locations starting at 5:30 p.m.:

Town Hall, 6601 Main Street, shuttle service will run every 20 minutes until 8 p.m.

Royal Oaks Park, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue, shuttle service will run every 10 minutes until 8 p.m.

Shuttle service will resume after the fireworks show with the last bus department Picnic Park West at 11 p.m.
