When the Monsignor Edward Pace High School Class of 2009 gathered for their 10-year reunion last fall, the night was about more than who looked good or who became a success. The class decided to create a scholarship for a Pace student in honor of two classmates – Orlando Figueredo and Reynaldo Llanes -- who had died. St. Thomas University has waived the requirement that high school students must submit SAT and ACT test scores when they apply to attend the school in the fall semester. The coronavirus epidemic has led to the closing of testing sites across the country, the school said. To welcome prospective fifth graders to Miami Lakes Middle School, students and staff hosted their very first color run.
