Phi Kappa Phi chooses Sanchez

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, which recognizes academic excellence, announced it has inducted Astrid
Sanchez of Hialeah, shown in the photograph above.
Sanchez attended Hialeah Gardens High School and is enrolled at Florida International
University, the society said.

Pace alumni pay it forward

When the Monsignor Edward Pace High School Class of 2009 gathered for their 10-year reunion last fall, the night was about more than who looked good or who became a success. The class decided to create a scholarship for a Pace student in honor of two classmates – Orlando Figueredo and Reynaldo Llanes -- who had died. St. Thomas University has waived the requirement that high school students must submit SAT and ACT test scores when they apply to attend the school in the fall semester.
