Judge dismisses bridge lawsuit; town appeals decision

A Miami-Dade County Circuit Court judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Town of Miami Lakes to stop construction of the Northwest 170th Street bridge from extending onto the town’s northwest boundary. The 41st Annual Veterans Day Parade in Miami Lakes will follow a new, 8.5 mile route through this year.  Because of the threat from Tropical Storm Depression Eta, the town has moved the event back a week, from its original date of Sunday, Nov. 8 to the new date, Sunday, Nov. 15. A Democratic teacher and a Republican former school administrator sought to represent District 110 in Tallahassee, and Alex Rizo, a candidate for the GOP, won the race Tuesday.
