Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force, in partnership with the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Town of Miami Lakes Section, will host the 16th annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street.
The free event, which is open to the public, will provide participating children bicycle safety training and the opportunity to interact with various branches of law enforcement officers. The Police Department will also hold a motorcycle demonstration, a crowd favorite.
The first 150 kids who register will receive a free bike helmet courtesy of Miami Children’s Hospital’s Miami Lakes Outpatient Center. Food, beverages and entertainment will be provided, along with the opportunity to win new bikes and other prizes.
The event is sponsored by the Town of Miami Lakes, Youth Activities Task Force, Andy’s Police Supply and Miami Children’s Hospital.
