Miami Lakes’ long-running Summerfest concert is back presenting its 25th Anniversary summer music festival at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 6. The free concert will be held at Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 N.W. 67 Avenue.
The Summerfest Chamber Orchestra will feature musicians and soloists who have participated in the festival over the past 25 years, including members of the Arpeggione Chamber Orchestra of Austria, the Mission Chamber Orchestra of Rome, Hungarian Virtuosi, Italy’s I Music and others, representing more than 10 different countries.
Under the baton of Symphony artistic director, Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, the Miami Lakes concert will feature the music of Vivaldi, Mozart, Bloch, Fuchs, and more. Georgian violinist Sandro Tigishvili will be a featured soloist in an American premiere arrangement for strings of the Concertino by Georgian composer Otar Taktakishvili, commissioned by the Symphony of the Americas for the Summerfest 25th anniversary.
Other soloists include Summerfest Concertmaster and violinist Orlando Forte of Cuba, violinist Svetlana Forte of Ukraine, and flutist Marilyn Maingart of the USA.
