Miami Lakes Councilwoman Marilyn Ruano is considering whether to run for mayor. She was nominated to fill a vacant council seat by incumbent Mayor Manny Cid in 2017 and ran unopposed in 2018. Malique plans to attend Syracuse University in New York and study broadcasting, while Natalia and Monica will attend Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. and plan to major in political science. The Town of Miami Lakes and its Education Advisory Board are accepting applications for The Graham Companies Scholarship, to be presented by the firm. Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Miami Lakes. Applications must be submitted to town hall by March 31. The EAB will choose two students in April; winners will be announced at the April 21 town council meeting....
American Senior High School’s Dewayne Martin won a Posse Foundation scholarship, his school in Hialeah announced.
Dewayne has been accepted to Hamilton College in
