A familiar face is running the building department for the Town of Miami Lakes. Michel Mesa has replaced Eliezer Palacio, who took another job after working 17 years for the town. The importance of the cultural contributions of African-Americans will be celebrated at town hall on Feb. 22, with music, food and art, all in honor of Black History Month.
