Bob Graham Education Center congratulated Eva Oliveras who was a finalist in this year's Do the Write Thing Challenge and her teacher Jacqueline Arrojo-Hernandez. Oliveras, her parents and teacher attended the awards ceremony on May 22. On April 8, two Hialeah Miami Lakes (HML) students, Erik Fernandez and Naomi Valdez, were honored at a ceremony recognizing the achievements of athletes in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Both students received the Outstanding Scholar Athlete award and scholarship from the Junior Orange Bowl Committee. Mater Academy High’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble recently competed at the World Strides Heritage Festival in Virginia and walked away with some top honors. The Coding Doctors Kids Club held their fundraiser on May 21. The club was looking to raise money to buy a bundle of VEX robots. The event at Ben & Jerry’s and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza was very successful as over 150 people attended. The club was able to raise enough money to buy their bundle.
