Spearheaded by the Education Advisory Board, in partnership with Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS), the Town of Miami Lakes announced that Bob Graham Education Center and Miami Lakes K-8 Center will offer a first of its kind advanced placement preparatory course for eighth graders beginning in August.

The course, Communications Methodology Honors, enables students to highly refine communication and critical-thinking skills important for success in college and career readiness. Students who graduate from the course will enter high school with an elective credit. Students will move into high school advanced placement courses already equipped with extensive vocabulary knowledge.

Implementation of the course is the first project completed through the recently adopted Education Compact approved by the Town Council and Miami Dade County School Board. Through the Compact, MDCPS and the Town will strive to meet the educational needs of the town’s youth.
