McDonald’s is offering a grant program to educators, non-profits and organizations that serve children in grades K-12.
     Applicants must apply by Sept. 15 and are eligible for awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. 
     Called the McDonald’s Golden Grants Program, the company says in a press release that its purpose is to enhance the imagination and growth of kids.
     The program is in its third year and has distributed $200,000 in grants so far, the company said. 
     McDonald’s owners/operators from Florida, southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina will select winners, according to the company.
     Qualifying activities include arts and crafts programs; education initiatives; mentorship and empowerment programs; after school programs; community service; sports and technology.
     Winners will be announced Oct. 12.
