Bob Graham Education Center’s (BGEC) Bobcat Dancers had the opportunity to participate in the American Dance Alliance (ADA) Florida State Dance Team Championship competition on January 25. The Bobcat Dancers brought home various awards and earned in three different categories scores of “Excellent” as an overall team evaluation.
The Dancers won first place in the “Open” category, 5th place with a “Contemporary” piece, and 8th place in “Hip Hop.” This is the team’s second year in competition under the direction of their dance coach, Mayri Martinez, and their first competition of the year.
The Bobcat Dancers perform in different events in their community, put on two dance recitals a year, dance at the Miami Heat games, and have now expanded to compete both locally and abroad in Orlando at the Contest of Champions.
