Kelsie Gonzalez, who represented Bob Graham Education Center’s Bobcat Jumpers, traveled to Virginia to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics this past summer.

The 13-year-old’s skills and preparation brought home a fourth place finish in her age group, as she competed against children from the United States, Canada, and Australia.

She also brought home another medal after she competed in the Double Dutch competition in the 17-and-under division.

Her coach, Jeffrey Tandlich, helped prepare Kelsie for the national competition by working on her power and speed and stamina

“She worked so hard in practice to get ready for the tournament,” Tandlich.

It was the second time Kelsie competed in the Junior Olympics and the second time that she has had a top-five finish.
