Representative Manny Diaz Jr. (R-Hialeah) recently used Apple’s Facetime application to visit Bob Graham Education Center during an Education Committee meeting to answer questions about the legislative process.

The 7th grade Law Studies class watched the Education Committee live on the Florida House website and Diaz stepped out of committee to address the class. The students in Ingy Cruz’s class are working on a public policy project entitled Project Citizen.“I am proud to be a part of this innovative project” said Diaz.

“Connecting our kids to government is a passion of mine.”Diaz plans to continue visiting schools like Bob Graham in his District via Facetime as committee weeks continue leading to the 2014 Legislative Session.

Diaz represents the 103rd District, which includes southern Broward County and northeastern Miami-Dade County, stretching from Miramar to Hialeah Gardens, since 2012. He is the vice chair of the K-12 Subcommittee.
