Book Talk: Novelist Kirstin Chen

     The Town of Miami Lakes and its Cultural Affairs Committee will present author Kirstin Chen on Sept. 7. She will discuss her most recent novel, “Counterfeit.”

     Chen is a best-selling author who also wrote “Bury What We Cannot Take” and “Soy Sauce for Beginners.” 

     “Counterfeit” is a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick and New York Times Editors’ Choice. The newspaper’s book review said it touches on the “myth of the model minority” and is a “pop-feminist caper.” 

       The writer, who was born in Singapore and lives in New York City, will appear from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. via livestream. 

     The committee will raffle off books and provide refreshments during the evening.
