Boy Scouts of South FL. Council present Distinguished Citizen Awards

The South Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America, headquartered in Miami Lakes, held its Distinguished Citizen Award ceremony on March 15 at Shula’s Hotel on Main Street.

The Fireball District 2016 honorees included John P. “Jack” McCall, Past Distinguished Governor, South Florida District, Optimist of Miami Lakes; Fred Senra, general manager/partner of Miami Lakes Auto Mall; and Hector J. Ponte, Countyline Market president, Wells Fargo & Company.

The Distinguished Citizen Award honors South Florida individuals for their efforts in making a distinct difference in the fabric of their communities.

Scouting teaches youth character development, leadership skills, teamwork, and understanding duty to family, faith and respect for others.

The South Florida Council impacts more than 40,000 youth and their families in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.
